Label manufacturer, The Label Makers, has created sustainable labels for Coastal Reserve, an ethically minded, on-trade exclusive range of three vegan certified wines from Treasury Wine Estates (TWE), a global wine company.
Coastal Reserve has a premium look and feel and has been designed to appeal to an increasing pool of consumers who seek environmentally friendly products and brands that have a purpose. In partnering with not-for-profit organisation, Plastic Oceans Europe, Coastal Reserve’s aim was to focus on raising awareness around its sustainable efforts towards reducing plastic pollution. In creating the Coastal brand, TWE has consciously made supply chain and packaging choices to minimise environmental impact. This includes sourcing and shipping European wines in bulk to reduce shipping miles and emissions and using light-weight bottles and labels made from 100% recycled paper.
In meeting this requirement, The Label Makers used an FSC uncoated paper, made with 100% post-consumer recycled fibres. The labels were embellished in-line with two hot foils, along with a high build tactile to extenuate a central anchor motif. With each of the three wines featuring a different seascape design, the print run itself was overseen by a pass-on-press by TWE, to ensure that all labels across the range were consistent.
Commenting on the end product, Tony Watson, general manager EMEA at Treasury Wine Estates, said: “The team at The Label Makers fully met our requirements, providing exacting attention to detail and producing labels of the highest quality, while complementing our sustainability ethics. We look forward to continuing to work with them in the future.”
The Label Makers’ sales director, Ben Robinson, added: “The team at TWE always has a clear vision of the sort of label they are after, which helps enormously in meeting their aspirations. For the Coastal range the finished product looks stunning, with the paper doing a great job of achieving the desired aesthetic across all three labels, while fully meeting their sustainable requirements.”
The Label Makers are exhibiting on Stand E52 at the Packaging Innovations Show on 25-26 May.
