Award-winning label manufacturer The Label Makers has recently partnered with Wolfburn Distillery to produce packaging for The Last Keeper, a special edition Single Malt Scotch Whisky created to promote awareness of film-maker Tom Opre’s documentary of the same name.
“This was a brilliant project from start to finish and we’re absolutely delighted with the results, which have been a real hit with our customers,” said Paul Collins, head of brand at Wolfburn. “The Label Makers delivered exceptional quality on both the bottle label and the tube wrap, with the attention to detail, colour accuracy and premium finish all exceeding our expectations.”
Based in Thurso, Caithness, Wolfburn Distillery is one of the northernmost whisky distilleries on the Scottish mainland. Established in 1821 and reawakened in 2013, it has earned an international award-winning reputation for its handcrafted single malt whiskies, made using traditional methods and locally sourced ingredients.
Working closely with Paul Collins, The Label Makers created a bottle label and presentation tube featuring high build varnish, metallic foils and rich colour detail. The result offers exceptional shelf presence and perfectly complements the distillery’s craftsmanship and storytelling.
“The Last Keeper is a perfect example of how design and storytelling can come together to strengthen a brand’s identity,” said Ben Robinson, sales director at The Label Makers. “One of the benefits of our print and embellishment technologies is that primary and secondary packaging can share the same specifications in material and finishing, creating perfect alignment throughout the packaging as a whole. It’s been a pleasure working again with Paul and the team.”
The Last Keeper documentary examines historic and contemporary land use across Scotland and the challenges that come with a changing landscape. The release features Wolfburn’s popular 10-year-old whisky, rebranded to mirror the film's spirit through distinctive artwork and premium print finishes.
Having worked together for around two years, the partnership between Wolfburn and The Label Makers continues to strengthen, built on trust, creativity and a shared commitment to quality.
With both businesses sharing a passion for craftsmanship and innovation, future collaborations are already in the works. Wolfburn’s upcoming releases promise even more ambitious and technically complex designs, something The Label Makers are well equipped to deliver as the distillery continues to push the boundaries of premium whisky presentation.
